BDO Should fold, Summer Series was Successful, Look to the Matchplay
The BDO should close down and call it a night officially. Over the past few years it has been run terribly and every "Press release" from Des Jacklin is laced with poor English, Teflonism & a good wedge of nassacistic tendencies, Its not worthy for a chairman of this once proud organisation & its deeply shameful that the end as come due to financial issues which Jacklin is blaming everyone else apart from himself. I will go on record and say he is the worst person to be involved in the great sport of Darts, Its a mystery why people think he will do a good job
The sooner tri-nations and UKDA actually form a pact where tri-nations (International game) & UKDA (Amateur & County Game) can use their strengths to good effect. I hope they both thrash out a deal, And I'm glad a steady number of counties are joining the UKDA & Others should follow suit in good time.
The Summer Series was successful, in its 5 events it threw up a surprise winner in Ryan Joyce who has qualified for the World Matchplay. Some players would be really disappointed with their return from the 5 days, Stephen Bunting & Chris Dobey not qualifying despite being in the top 20 will sting them for a bit. Devon Pietersen nearly qualified and have improved from a Jobber in previous years he is actually capable of being a top 20 player but he would need to impress more on TV (When he gets the chance) to move to the next level, His floor form is showing signs he can.
The World Matchplay will be strange. And you could argue it will be the worst edition ever, Without crowds and not in Blackpool it will seem like another event. But the standard will be good and the viewer will get used to it & it may benefit players to being out their A games onto the stage. Its Darts on the TV and we need it. Some really good 1st round games, Cross vs Clemens is the game that stands out and its a nightmare draw for Rob Cross. I predict more then 10 seeds will be through to the last 16. MVG & Wright will be tough to beat and who ever does will pick up the title. I'm hopeful that Glen Durrant does well but its would be a tough last 16 match vs Peter Wright.
Oh expect my Twitter comeback within the next few weeks, Parler is good & i'm still on it but its heavily political, I like chatting to normal unpolitical people.
Best Wishes
